📖 How to Play
🪜 Scrap Core Walkthrough & Strategy
How to get good at Scrap Core: five action steps covering the controls, the objective and the score loop, so your next run beats your best one.
Never stand in the open — in Scrap Core use walls, blocks and structures to break enemy sight lines, then reposition before the next exchange.
Learn the Scrap Core control map before you chase a score: Mouse (hold Left Click): Thrust toward cursor; W A S D / Arrows / ZQSD: Move; Spacebar / Double-Tap: EMP Shockwave — paralyze & shatter; E: Magnetic Surge — vacuum the whole sector. Drill that sequence until your hands answer without thinking.
Reload during the quiet, not the fight: track your ammo in Scrap Core and top up between engagements instead of mid-duel.
Stay on the objective: Pilot your core with the mouse — hold Left Click to thrust toward the cursor — or with WASD / Arrow Keys (AZERTY players: ZQSD). Loose metal is pulled onto your collision mesh automatically, so route through debris to keep your armor growing. Ram enemies at speed: damage scales with total cluster mass times velocity, so a heavy, fast cluster shatters almost anything. Fire the EMP Shockwave (Spacebar or double-tap) when a swarm closes to melee — it paralyzes and shatters everything nearby. Trigger Magnetic Surge (E) over a kill zone to vacuum every piece of loose debris in the sector onto your core at once. Pause with P or Escape. On mobile, drag the virtual direction pad to steer and use the on-screen EMP and Magnetize buttons — no download, no sign-up. Treat everything else on screen as a distraction until that goal is met.
Compare attempts instead of restarting blindly: Scrap Core is filed under scrap core game, magnetic swarm survival game, physics survival game, swarm survival game, so measured repetition rather than mashing is what raises your score.

✦About Scrap Core
Scrap Core is a free magnetic swarm survival game with a twist the genre has never seen: physical magnetic accretion. You are an autonomous experimental core loose in a post-apocalyptic robotic scrapyard where the global automated fabrication grid has gone rogue. Electromagnetic force fields vacuum loose girders, armor plates, cogs and debris directly onto your perimeter — and that attached scrap is both your armor and your kinetic weapon.
Combat is real physics, not stat tables: ramming damage is proportional to total cluster mass × velocity. Grow a thirty-plate cluster and a full-speed collision shatters a mech; get greedy, bloat your profile, and artillery fire shears your armor off in sheets. Collide with hunter drones, swarms, shielded tanks and the titanic Scrap Golem world boss that spawns every 3 minutes, harvest salvaged Nanites from the wreckage, and unlock permanent upgrades in the workshop.
Two active abilities flip every bad situation: the EMP Shockwave (Space or double-tap) paralyzes and shatters an encircling swarm, and Magnetic Surge (E) magnetizes every loose piece of metal in the entire sector onto your core — an instant full rebuild over a kill zone. Four playable cores — balanced Aegis, ability-spamming Dynamo, wrecking ball Goliath and vacuum-monster Vortex — each turn the same physics into a different playstyle.
All of it runs on a custom HTML5 Canvas 2D physics engine with a 60fps target, auto high-DPI scaling, real-time particle debris, directional screen shake, chromatic damage aberration and a fully procedural Web Audio soundtrack — zero external audio assets. Free in any browser, no download, no sign-up, full touch support on phone and tablet.

⚡ Key Features
Physical Magnetic Accretion
Vacuum girders, armor plates, cogs and metallic debris onto your collision mesh. Your attached scrap is simultaneously your hit points and your kinetic ramming weapon — a mechanic no other swarm survival game has.
Real Kinetic Damage Math
Ramming damage is proportional to total cluster mass × velocity. Every plate you weld on makes you tankier AND deadlier — mass is build, speed is skill, and the two multiply.
EMP Shockwave & Magnetic Surge
Two active abilities: an omnidirectional high-voltage pulse that paralyzes and shatters nearby drones, and a sector-wide surge that magnetizes ALL loose metal onto your core at once.
Four Playable Cores
Aegis (balanced), Dynamo (rapid EMP + acceleration), Goliath (massive scrap capacity) and Vortex (extreme attraction radius) — four distinct builds from the same physics.
14 Enemy Types + World Boss
Seeker Drones, Swarmers, Shielded Tanks, Magnetic Pulsers, Artillery Mechs and more — plus the titanic Scrap Golem that spawns every 3 minutes whether you're ready or not.
Six Arena Hazards
Laser Gates, Proximity Mines, Corrosive Acid Pools, inverted-control Magnetic Flux Fields, Singularity Vortexes and armor-overheating Thermal Vents. The arena fights back.
Nanite Workshop Meta Progression
Harvest Nanites from kills and buy seven permanent upgrade tracks — Magnetic Field Radius, Scrap Attachment Limit, Armor Plate Density, Kinetic Ram Multiplier, EMP Overcharge and more.
20 Achievements + Daily Challenges
A full achievement hunt plus daily challenges that deal fresh conditions every day — long-term goals beyond the first Golem kill.
Procedural Audio & Kinetic Visuals
A Web Audio API synthesizer soundtrack (zero audio files), dynamic magnetic force lines, radial EMP arcs, particle debris, screen shake and chromatic damage aberration at a 60fps target.

The Mass Rule
- ●Your scrap is your health bar — every attached plate absorbs a hit before your core hull takes damage.
- ●Ramming damage = total cluster mass × velocity. Heavy AND fast hits hardest; you choose which to build.
- ●A bloated cluster is a bigger target — artillery mechs and pulser waves shear plates off wide profiles.
- ●Retreat through debris fields to re-armor mid-fight; Magnetic Surge (E) rebuilds instantly over a kill zone.
- ●Save the EMP for encirclement — the pulse paralyzes everything adjacent, converting a trap into a shattering ram.
- ●The Scrap Golem spawns every 3 minutes. Kite it through fresh debris and trade mass into its core when your cluster peaks.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Is Scrap Core free to play with no download?
Yes. Scrap Core is 100% free to play directly in your web browser on desktop, phone or tablet. No download, no plugins, no account and no sign-up — your workshop upgrades, achievements and records save to local browser storage, and nothing is ever uploaded.
Is Scrap Core like Vampire Survivors or Brotato?
Scrap Core is a swarm survival game in the same family as Vampire Survivors, Brotato and Diep.io — escalating waves, builds that grow during a run, and permanent meta progression between runs. It is its own original game though, built around a mechanic none of those have: physical magnetic accretion, where the scrap you collect physically attaches to your body and serves as both your armor and your kinetic ramming weapon.
How does damage work in Scrap Core?
Ramming damage is mathematically proportional to your total cluster mass multiplied by your velocity — heavier and faster equals harder hits. Your attached scrap also functions as your hit points: enemy fire and collisions tear plates off your cluster before they ever touch your core hull, so a big cluster is simultaneously your health bar and your weapon.
What do the EMP Shockwave and Magnetic Surge do?
EMP Shockwave (Spacebar or double-tap) emits an omnidirectional high-voltage pulse that paralyzes and shatters nearby robotic drones — your panic button when a swarm encircles you. Magnetic Surge (E key or the on-screen button) temporarily magnetizes ALL loose metal debris across the entire sector toward your core, instantly rebuilding your armor over a fresh kill zone.
Which core should I play?
Aegis Core for balanced magnetic strength and hull resilience, Dynamo Core for high-frequency EMP pulses and rapid acceleration, Goliath Core for massive scrap capacity and devastating ramming mass, and Vortex Core for an extreme magnetic attraction radius and vacuum pull. All four play the same run but reward completely different builds.
Is there a boss?
Yes — the titanic Scrap Golem spawns as a world boss every 3 minutes, on top of 14 regular enemy types: Seeker Drones, Swarmers, Shielded Tanks, Magnetic Pulsers, long-range Artillery Mechs and more, each forcing you to change your ramming lines.
What hazards are in the arena?
Six environmental hazards that reshape every run: Laser Gates, Proximity Mines, Corrosive Acid Pools, inverted-control Magnetic Flux Fields, Singularity Vortexes and armor-overheating Thermal Vents. The arena is not passive — it's a second opponent.
Can I play Scrap Core on my phone or tablet?
Yes. Scrap Core has full touch support: drag the virtual direction pad to steer, double-tap or press the on-screen EMP button for the shockwave, and use the on-screen Magnetize button for the surge. On desktop, hold Left Click for mouse thrust or use WASD, Arrow keys or AZERTY ZQSD, Spacebar for EMP, E for Magnetize, and P or Escape to pause.
Does Scrap Core save my progress?
Yes — automatically to your browser's local storage. Nanite workshop upgrades, all 20 achievements, daily challenge records and your best runs persist between sessions. No account, nothing uploaded.
Who made Scrap Core and where is the official version?
Scrap Core is designed and developed by Toolify Studio, running on a custom HTML5 Canvas 2D physics engine with a procedural Web Audio soundtrack (zero external audio assets), and published exclusively by Gamify as a Gamify Original. It is not reskinned, not rehosted and not available on any other portal. You are always playing the latest version here for free.
